Operation Management System on a New Software Platform

Bruchsal, February 05, 2016: ADVARIS Informationssysteme GmbH is presenting the new generation of “ADVARIS Cable”, its solution for the cable and wire sector, at the Wire 2016. As well as functional highlights, the trade fair presentation of the system developer from North Baden, Germany will focus on the roll-out of the new ADVARIS software platform. Pre-dating their official release, ADVARIS presents the new “look & feel” of the two modules C2 (Cable Design and Costing) and MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul). With their new user interface design, Web Client and performance optimization, the software specialists certainly stay true to their exhibition claim “Always a twist ahead”. ADVARIS CEO Dr. Manfred Moser confidently states: “ADVARIS Cable is the most comprehensive, fully-integrated operations management system for cable and wire manufacturers available on the market today. For ADVARIS customers, Industry 4.0 is no longer utopia. It is everyday practice.”

New development has concentrated on the detailed planning and scheduling module for optimized machine utilization, on integrated variant management, and on the logging of machine and process data. Thanks to the ergonomic user interface and the freely configurable signals, the links with machines can be easily set up and flexibly extended as required. The new MES version reads data such as recipe numbers and settings directly into the machine PLC (programmable logic control). Transport orders for the movement of materials in production are generated automatically, and transmitted to AGV transport systems (automatic guided vehicle) or forklift terminals.

The ERP module for metal account management now automatically generates accounting entries for customers and suppliers from the business operations. EDI interfaces are also integrated for the electronic transmission of orders, delivery notes and invoices to customers and suppliers.

The ADVARIS Cable Solution supports and interlinks all aspects of operation, especially design, manufacturing, quality assurance, plant maintenance, materials management, logistics and sales. The heart of the system is a mature, high-performance Manufacturing Execution System (MES) perfectly attuned to the special requirements of wire and cable manufacturing.
