Slingco’s approach to international trade recognised as it increases its export volumes and enhances its overall performance through accessing new markets
Rochdale-based design and manufacturing company Slingco has beaten off competition to win the International Company of the Year Award (up to £10m turnover) at the 2015 Insider North West International Trade Awards.
With offices in Atlanta serving North and South America and a manufacturing base established in Bangalore, Slingco supplies cable installation and support products to a truly global customer base.
Impressive development of staff and engagement in an international culture particularly impressed the judging panel at the black tie award ceremony, held at the Lowry Hotel, Salford, on 3rd December 2015. The judges also praised the leadership of managing director Nick Dykins and the well-focused management team.
Since its foundation in 1980, Slingco has established itself as a world leader in the design, production and supply of cable installation and support products, wire rope assemblies and more, to industries as varied as oil and gas, marine and offshore, public utilities, civil engineering, aerospace, transport, the military, performing arts, vehicle building, and construction.
Nick Dykins, Slingco Managing Director, comments: “This month caps off what has been another remarkable year for Slingco. We have gone from strength to strength and the Insider Media Award win is testament to the hard work, commitment, and of course talent shown by each and every single member of the Slingco family.”
Rupert Cornford, Insider’s features editor. “It’s been great to see global success achieved from the North West; it’s been a real pleasure to meet the people making it happen. In five years, we’ve seen the markets grow, currencies shift, and security issues impact trade. But what hasn’t changed is the entrepreneurial zeal and focus of company directors determined to spread their wings.”
Other companies shortlisted for the Insider Media International Company of the Year Award (up to £10m turnover) were Shaws of Darwen, Gentronix, Applegreen, ParkCloud, and GJD Manufacturing.
