PEI-Genesis, Inc., one of the world’s fastest assemblers of precision connectors and cable assemblies, hosted the grand opening for its Zhuhai factory in China on October 21, an event attended by the PEI Executive Team, led by Steven Fisher, Chairman and CEO, and key customer representatives from throughout China as well as representatives from supplier partners including Amphenol, ITT Cannon, TE Connectivity and Cinch. This geographic expansion puts PEI-Genesis in the unique position of being the only value-add connector distributor with assembly facilities in North America, Europe and Asia.
Although operational since May 1 of this year, the official opening signified the company’s commitment to the Chinese market and to delivering customized solutions for its local customers.
“The business in China is already growing strong, and we are very excited about this new venture,” said Fisher. “The Chinese economy will continue to outpace most of the developed world and we are now well positioned to take advantage of China’s growth. With our unique model of high-mix, low-volume production, the opportunity for growth here is nearly unlimited in the years ahead.”

PEI-Genesis also provides application tools and technical expertise to help its customers solve complex interconnect problems. “Our strategy in China is identical to our strategy in North America and Europe,” continued Dorwart. “We want to help customers solve interconnect problems in harsh environments, to become their trusted advisor and to deliver integrated interconnect solutions, including cable assemblies.”
