The tool, available for web and mobile, will make cable installation easier for electricians and consultants
Following success of its cable sizing tool in France and Belgium, Nexans is launching EASYCALC™ in New Zealand. The free app, which can be accessed using a web browser, tablet or smartphone, helps professional electricians and installers easily determine the appropriate cable cross-section for their electrical installation.
This newly released version has been specifically developed for the cable industry in New Zealand and facilitates the use of cables which adhere to local standards. EASYCALC™ also takes into account the specific sizing challenges associated with voltage drop, soil resistivity conditions and installation.
EASYCALC™ allows for parallel-circuit or multi-circuit options, and can be used for both current and motor calculations (kW or kVA). Users can print search results directly, or send them to an email address. Display product data sheets and codes can also be emailed directly from the tool.
Nexans customers had the opportunity to get a sneak preview of the local EASYCALC™ version during a series of road shows conducted in May. The feedback was extremely positive and proved the usefulness and relevance of such a tool.
Nexans EASYCALC™ is now available for download from the App Store and Google Play. All versions of the app are free.
Michael Pienaar, General Manager Sales & Marketing at Nexans New Zealand said, “This free tool is part of our commitment to giving our customers innovative solutions to help them work smarter and improve performance. EASYCALC™ will make cable installation easier for professional electricians, engineering consultants and cable customers.”
