R&M extends the Cat. 6A EL module with an angled cable exit / Solution for narrow outlets and conduits / Suitable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet in the office

Wetzikon, London, March 31, 2016. R&M, the global Swiss developer and provider of cabling systems for top-quality and highly efficient network infrastructures, is expanding its range of RJ45 connection modules. There is now a cable exit at a 90° angle available for the Cat. 6A EL module. This means the network connection can be accommodated in particularly narrow outlets and unusual installation situations. Using the 90° cable exit, installers can avoid manually bending cables in outlets and, as a result, avoid diminished efficiency in the LAN. Further typical areas of use are small floor tanks and narrow conduits.

The Cat. 6A EL range from R&M is designed for the fast expansion of structured cabling systems. An installer can wire the module in under a minute. The eight copper conductors can be contacted in next to no time. Whereas in the past, several days were needed to wire a network distributor for structured cabling systems, it now takes just hours with the Cat. 6A EL module. The RJ45 socket makes it possible to operate a local data network with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10 GbE).

The Cat. 6A EL module retains its full performance capacity when the 90° cable exit is used. The defined guidance of the twisted pairs at an angle ensures stable signal quality. This means the module is perfect for 10 GbE transmission in the 90° version, too.

The angled cable exit is an accessory which can be assembled on every standard Cat. 6A EL standard. The advantage: Installers require just one module type which they can use to deal with all tasks and applications. This simplifies logistics during installation work, the termination of the RJ45 connections and later maintenance work on the LAN.

The module consists of two parts: the wire guide and the socket part with wiring cover. The socket can be assembled without any special tools. IDCs¬ automatically contact the wires when the cover is closed. An integrated clamping ring takes care of strain relief. It fixes all types of cables in place without pinching them. Cable ties are things of the past. With shielded twisted pair (STP) cabling the clamping ring provides 360º shield termination because it wraps completely around the braided shield.

The Cat. 6A EL module is available shielded (STP) in the die-cast version and unshielded (UTP) in the plastic version. The special plastic suppresses crosstalk between the conductors (AlienNEXT). The module terminates all installation cables with wire and flexible cables with strands of all common diameters according to the system TIA 568A or TIA 568B. It is compatible with the R&M cabling and security systems and tolerant of connectors made by other manufacturers.

The RJ45 socket fulfills the component specifications as specified in IEC 60603-7-41/-51. It is suitable for establishing permanent links and channels of Class EA compliant with ISO/IEC 11801, currently the highest performance level in twisted-pair copper cabling.
