Our Purpose

Cable Technology News is an independent digital publication serving the global cable, wire, power, energy, subsea and optical fibre industries.

Our aim is to provide timely, relevant and informative industry news, technology developments, project updates and business insight for professionals working throughout the global cable sector.

We are committed to maintaining the trust of our readers by operating with transparency, fairness and editorial integrity.

Editorial Independence

While many of the articles published on Cable Technology News originate from manufacturers, suppliers, industry organisations and commercial partners, all published content remains subject to our editorial review and discretion.

Publication on Cable Technology News should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any company, product, technology or service.

Editorial decisions are based on relevance, industry significance and the interests of our readership, rather than solely on commercial relationships.

We reserve the right to edit, amend, shorten, delay, decline or remove submitted content where appropriate and in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.

Commercial Content

Many organisations choose to work with Cable Technology News through the annual Industry Partner Programme.

These partnerships provide organisations with opportunities to increase their visibility through content publication, corporate profiles, newsletters, directory listings and other promotional activities.

Commercial partnerships do not guarantee publication of every submission, nor do they influence our editorial judgement regarding the suitability or presentation of content.

Industry Partner Features, labelled as Advertorial Features, advertising and other paid promotional content are clearly identified to distinguish commercial material from independent editorial content.

Industry Partner packages are designed to promote an organisation, its products, services, technology and company developments. They do not automatically include dedicated marketing campaigns for conferences, exhibitions, webinars, training courses or other events unless specifically included within the agreed package.

Press Releases

Press releases submitted by partners and industry organisations form an important part of our industry news coverage.

Submitted material may be edited for:

  • clarity
  • grammar
  • formatting
  • house style
  • headline optimisation
  • search engine optimisation (SEO)

Where practical, we aim to preserve the original meaning and technical accuracy of submitted material.

Responsibility for the accuracy of submitted material remains with the original contributor.

If factual errors are identified, we encourage contributors or readers to contact us so that appropriate corrections can be considered.

Corrections & Updates

We strive for accuracy in everything we publish. If you believe any published information is inaccurate or requires clarification, please contact us. Where appropriate, we will review the matter and make corrections or updates.

Artificial Intelligence

Some editorial processes may utilise artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist with tasks such as:

  • proofreading
  • summarisation
  • headline generation
  • formatting
  • grammar improvement
  • metadata creation

Final editorial decisions remain subject to human review.

Industry Partners, contributors and other content providers are required to inform Cable Technology News where submitted text, images, audio or video have been generated or materially manipulated using artificial intelligence. Where appropriate, such content may be labelled, amended, declined or removed to comply with applicable law and our editorial standards.

Editorial Integrity

Our editorial decisions are guided by the following principles:

  • relevance to our readership
  • technical and industry value
  • factual presentation
  • professional standards
  • transparency regarding commercial relationships

We do not publish content that we believe is misleading, defamatory, unlawful or otherwise inconsistent with our publication standards.

Funding & Commercial Relationships

Cable Technology News is funded through commercial industry partnerships and related business services.

This commercial model enables us to continue investing in independent industry news and the ongoing development of the publication.

We believe transparency regarding these relationships helps maintain trust with both our readers and our partners.

Event Promotion Policy

Cable Technology News regularly covers industry conferences, exhibitions, seminars, technical workshops and other events where they are considered relevant to our readership.

However, comprehensive event promotion, including repeated news coverage, dedicated promotional campaigns, social media activity, newsletter promotion, advertising, countdown campaigns or other marketing support, forms part of a separate commercial Events Package and is not included within the standard Industry Partner Programme packages, advertising or corporate profile packages unless expressly agreed in writing.

Publication of a company’s general news or press releases should not be interpreted as including promotion of an associated event.

If an organisation wants to maximise visibility for an event before, during, or after it takes place, Cable Technology News offers dedicated event promotion packages tailored for this purpose. We can offer the Industry Partner Programme packages to event organisations on a pro rata basis until the event’s completion, and these would be costed separately.

Editorial consideration of event-related news remains at the sole discretion of Cable Technology News and is based on newsworthiness, editorial relevance and available publishing schedules.
