Cimteq is pleased to announce it has secured a Silver Award under the Investors in People (IIP) accreditation programme.
IIP assessors awarded the Silver accreditation after a six-week assessment period in which all Cimteq staff were invited to undertake online surveys. In selected cases, and in order to represent each department, more in-depth face-to-face interviews also took place.
Common feedback from the Cimteq workforce was that they felt ‘empowered’ to undertake their roles, that their input was ‘valued’ and that their efforts were ‘appreciated’. There was particular mention of the values of approachability and transparency when describing the management team.
The assessors noted a ‘creditable improvement’ since Cimteq’s previous IIP assessment and on all 15 performance indicators. It achieved the highest possible score, ‘High Performing’, for the ‘Living the organisation’s values and behaviours’ indicator.
Performance in ‘Leading and inspiring people’, ‘Involving people’ and ‘Structuring work’ secured an ‘Advanced’ rating. Whilst justifiably proud, Cimteq recognises there’s still room to excel and is committed to implementing immediate improvements and well ahead of its next assessment in three years’ time.
As Operations Director, Robert Douglass, comments: “We’ve invested a lot in our internal communications, making sure that all teams are kept abreast of company and product performance through quarterly updates. We also plan more regular awaydays so that the focus of ‘we’ is very much on the company and not on individual departments.
“Like any company growing at the rate we are, it’s vital that we are all enthusiastic champions for change. One area where we’ve embraced this is through the adoption of lean and agile tools; but our people are equally as important, if not more.
“Having expanded the team as much as we have over the last twelve months presents an excellent opportunity to build on our succession planning, talent management and performance management. We’ve committed to a series of actions over the coming months and look forward to implementing them very shortly.”
